Andy, Niel and Lindsay from our Butler & Hewitt team were lucky enough to attend a Miele Technical Training course on Miele’s new domestic kitchen appliances range in Auckland last month. Some of the products covered included the new EcoFlex Dishwashers with WiFi technology, the new Artline Handle-less range of Ovens and the new Temp Control Induction Cooktops.
They found it informative and enjoyed catching up with the Miele staff and finding out more about this wonderful brand.

How cosy will your family be over the cold snap? Is there anyone in our community who may need some help organising a heat pump service?
Like all heating and cooling systems, proper maintenance is key to efficient operation. The difference between the energy consumption of a well-maintained heat pump and a severely neglected one can range from 10% to 25%.
Proper operation of your heat pump will save energy and ensure you are getting the best from your unit.
Cleaning filters regularly is an important part of maintaining a heat pump system. For best performance, you should have a professional technician service your heat pump at least every year. Have you had yours checked as this winter chill hits?
So as it gets cold this winter, talk to us about your heat pump installation and servicing. We are Panasonic heat pump specialists and can definitely assist in keeping your home warmer this winter.
It’s important to remember that to get the most out of your air conditioning units, air ducts, and/or heat pumps they require a level of skill for installation, repair, and maintenance. Paul, our experienced Heat Pump Service Technician, recommends an annual service for units in your home and/business.
Annual services save you money in the running costs of the units by increasing their energy efficiency. Not only that but they will also help to limit the wear and tear on the unit and therefore increase its longevity.
Clear signs your unit needs some attention may include:
Last year Paul introduced an amazing heat pump and air conditioner cleaning product to Butler & Hewitt. It holds amazing benefits that include:

Have you ever been working away in your kitchen, ready to get rid of the last few scraps after cleaning the dishes when you hit the waste disposal button and NOTHING happens?! Lots of us have been in this frustrating situation many a time, staring at the sink and thinking either 'I need to get someone in to fix that'...or 'oh well, I guess we'll just use it as a normal sink now and flag the waste disposal part!'
Sometimes though there is a middle ground to be found. Often, when something makes it's way into your waste disposal that shouldn't (a sneaky fork or cork!), the unit will 'trip' and turn itself off so that you can't do any more damage to it by turning it on again. It might also trip if you've run it for a long time, or if there is something wrong with it.
The good news is that if your disposal unit has just 'tripped' - it may very well be able to be reset and used again with minimal hassle.
Either way, we hope this little step through will save a few headaches the next time your waste disposal turns off.
