Payment

Can I still make payments by cheque?

As you may have heard, many banks are phasing out the use of cheques as a way to receive or make payments. The reality is, cheque use across NZ has been dropping for some time now, as individuals and businesses shift towards digital channels.

Due to this change, from 1st May 2021 we will be unable to accept cheques as a method of payment at Butler & Hewitt (2015) LTD.

What to do from here?
The easiest and most convenient way of making a payment is electronically, however, we can still offer multiple options to help you:

  1. Internet banking using a Direct Debit facility. Butler & Hewitt is a registered Bill Payee so in most cases, you will be able to make a payment directly from your personal Internet Banking system to us by searching our business name.
  2. Come in and see us at 54 Munroe Street, Napier, where you can still pay by:
  • Eftpos
  • Cash
  • Credit Card (this method of payment will incur a surcharge)
